Project -- zephyr
since my my falcon is at the weld shop getting a full cage and mini tubed and new frame rails , i bought a straight 1979 mercury z7 zephyr to play with , it had a 302 in it, i added some heads a cam , some gears and converter to quickly find the weak link , it broke a rod, so i decided to use the motor and tranny -converter i had built for the falcon and use it for the zephyr, the car is going to the weld shop tomorrow for a 8 point roll bar, the rear is a 8.8 with 3.73 gears, built c4 tranny with brake and a 4800 9inch converter, motor is a 393ci with heads that flowed 306 intake and 246 exhaust , the was 200cc runners before ported, cam is a comp solid roller .691-692 Duration@.050 intake 261 exhaust 268, ross pistons , -eagle h beam rods compression is almost 13-1, fully ported super vic intake

Should do it. A buddy's Fox Mustang hatch with a 408" Windsor (probably not as snotty as your 393) ran pretty consistant 6.60's. Great bracket car, too.
