XE boss heads
I finally mocked up my iron heads so now I have more questions
The intake angle is waay different 5/16 gap at top of ports with a nascar intake on
Does anyone make an intake that is wider / different angle or sells raw castings?
The spark plugs are in a different spot (true hemi chamber) homemade gaskets or?
It came with Jessels but i was told rockers are different then prodution boss
So what are the diffs? who makes rockers or can I adapter stock cast rockers
What kinda spring pressure / rpm / lift are they good for ?
This is not a max build just a hot rod motor
Thanks in adv!

Re: XE boss heads
Well it would really help to see what your describing to help us give you good answers.
Use a protractor and let us know what the intake face angle is on you heads and on the intake you are using. Hemi's and 429/460's have different angles and bolt patterns.
Are you sure your intake is a boss9 part? They made them for wedge heads too.
It may be to your advantage to open a photobucket account and take the time to download some pictures.

Re: XE boss heads
awmach,
This is a common problem when dealing with experimental/ prototype parts from Ford. Often a handfull of parts were made only to find they didn't work. 40 + years later we try to use the stuff and find it doesn't use easily available parts. Blue Thinder "might" be able to take one of his repro Boss intake castings and have it machined to your needs. Cushman Competition in Maine "might" have some pieces for the iron heads.

Re: XE boss heads
The cast iron boss 429 heads have a different angle on the intake face of the head, than the aluminum version. I'm not sure if a standard intake can be machined to fit. You might need to add spacers after machining the intake to match the angle of the heads to get everything to line up.
