Dare to be different? Empty Dare to be different?

Post  David Cole November 22nd 2009, 10:57 am

Yesterday I spent the day at the local track for the Outlaw Street Car series. ORSCA. Lot's of cool cars. The BBF was represented well.

I don't know if any of have seen it or not. It's not a bbf, but it made me and my friends scratch our heads. First asking why? Then how?

Mid 80's chevy truck running Outlaw 10.5. 541 ci blown OLDSMOBILE. 52 psi boost.

The kicker...... It's 4 WHEEL DRIVE! Slicks on all 4 corners. All 4 spinning on the burnout. Everything in the transfer case is billet. Running deep into the 4's until the trans exploded on his last (4th) qualifying pass.

That was on HP TV or something a few weeks ago. They were having a hard time making it go straight.

Stick the motor in a traditional tube car and watch how much faster it is.

Next time you think of it put your SAD in 4x4 on the pavement and go for a ride...........whole lotta binding going on........... aint so much the power as the misapplication breaking driveline parts.

Jon,

You're right about sticking the SD in 4x4 and going for a ride. You can't even turn the damn wheel half the time on pavement. But it'll climb anything!

I saw that truck on Horsepower TV or something like that a few months ago.
