Canopies? Empty Canopies?

Post  jones June 29th 2015, 10:05 pm

Where is a good place to find a durable four leg canopy? I want something along the lines of a 10x20 or 10x15. I know a lot of you use them in the pits. I will be using it for shooting practice on the weekends. Almost every one I have been under has leaks or it just soaks through the fabric. First shot out of the 338 Lapua it all comes raining down! LoL Maybe even some removable sides?

Buy what you can get a good deal on and throw a blue tarp on top it keeps it from soaking

The original EZ Up brand is hard to beat. SAMs club usually has 10x10s with sides.
With care, they last for many years. Always stake them down.

Canopies? Empty Canopy

Post  MustangBBF June 30th 2015, 10:50 am

I use canopies from KingCanopy.com

Like you mentioned after a while the material starts leaking - down here in FL I get about 2-3 years from the canopies before they start leaking from the top or at the drip edge.

Isn't there a plasticized material you can get that they use for "real" canopies? Anyone know the name of the material. Maybe its time for me to pay for the good stuff.

Canopies? Empty Been many years since I've been at the track

To give you an idea it used to be called Moroso .....

Have not been to the track since got serious with the wife. De-race parting the car and finishing for street.

Got tired of never being fast enough and watching my friends leverage their houses for a few 10ths of sec increases.

Starbrite makes a product called Sea Safe Waterproofing that can restore the water repelling qualities to your canopy. Worked good on my brother-in-laws Bimini top.

Don't they still sale Scotchgard? We used to spray it on our jeans when we played in the snow.

Scotchguard always made everything I sprayed it on tear easier.
