Value Of A Tube Chassis Rolller
What is the consensus of the value of a 8.50 cert mild steel tube chassis roller, rearend used,HQ brakes new, suspension all done newish, wheels newer and paint new, fiberglass body, wheelie bars, all accessories removed including electronics. Has been raced, current cert, interior minimal seats, dated harnesses, guessing 25K to put back on the track not street-able.

you can get that around here for about $4000-$8000 depending on a lot of conditions.

If it was an all new/brand new full chassis build that someone just lost interest in then possibly $10,000 (or more) just cuz the all fiberglass body is a decent added initial expense vs using an OEM roof & rear quarters bought from Craig's List/junk yard. On the other hand it being a used race car & the chassis only being an 8.50 m/s cert (instead of an SFI 25.4 m/s cert) does kinda kick the $$$ back the other direction.
But something about this deal/combo doesn't make sense to me. There's nothing wrong with going mild steel chassis with a fiberglass body, but if someone does spend the extra bucks for a fiberglass body.......why not follow through and make the m/s chassis a SFI 25.4 cert?

Thanks Guys!
I was wondering about the cage myself... my thought (guess) was maybe it was 25.4 but needed to be updated in order to re-certify so it dropped to 8.50

That scenario (a 25.4 cert down graded to 8.50 cert) may or may not be possible depending on what wall m/s tubing was used if it was originally a SFI 25.4 build. This is because SFI does allow some of the m/s tubing wall minimums to be as thin as a .108" wall (for 1.500" OD tubing and smaller) instead of the .118" minimum the 8.50 cert calls for on most everything that's sonic tested.
For example some m/s bars that would be legal for a 25.4 or 25.5 cert at a .108" wall, but not legal for an 8.50 cert are stuff like the dash bar (1.250 or 1.500 OD x .108 wall), rear main hoop supports (1.250, 1.375, or 1.500 OD x .108 wall). These same m/s bars in an 8.50 cert would require at least a .118" wall.
Another possible stumbling block in down grading a m/s 25.4 or 25.5 cert to a m/s 8.50 cert is the main hoop's seat cross bar/seat back bar. It's required in the 8.50 cert (minimum 1.250 OD x .118 wall), but not required on the SFI cert because the SFI cert requires the funny car cage + the #15 lower horizontal cage support bar instead.
