C6 help. Truck pushes hard Empty C6 help. Truck pushes hard

Went to push my project out to the paint booth, and it pushed hard enough going forward and pushed harder going backwards. Took the drive shaft out and the truck pushed very easy. Everything in this trans is brand new, and hasn't had fluid pushed through it yet. (was hoping to start the motor in a week or so). The trans has been sitting for probably a year now after I assembled it. Is it normal for them to be tight like this at first? If not what should I look at/for?
