C6 doesn't want to shift into 3rd

Took my Maverick ( roller I brought back to life ) to the track for the first time and the trans doesn't want to shift into 3rd under power. It will shift to 3rd driving in the pits. Reverse is fine. I know little about this trans as it came with the car and am under the impression the trans brake is one of franks. The 3rd pass it did shift after a long hesitation.

Check shift linkage adjustment , fluid level , and fluid PsI check.

Did that , did that , need to do that.

One more check fluid condition .

Type F castor oil new.

Take a clean cloth and whipe the dipstick on it and see if it has any black or metal residue on it. Use white towel if you can.

red no metal , but a slight dark residue could be considered black.

That is clutch and band material . You will get some wear but shouldn't be a lot. Have you pulled the pan to see what or how much is in it ?

How long has it been sitting up, and do you know if it ever shifted correctly?

Dont know andante know.. Took a chance putting it in.

Did a pressure check today. 1 gear 140 to 190, 2ond gear 140 to 190, 3rd gear drops to 90 when you shift and then goes to 140. All readings are at idle speed and car off the ground with the wheels turning.
