565 Nitrous engine
We race NMCA Xtreme Street with this engine.[img][/img]
Its a Bryant 4.25 billet crank with center counterweights, 2.75 main journals and 2.1 rod journals. MGP billet aluminum rods, diamond custom pistons that are hard anodized with coated skirts and gas ports.
A460 block with pro gram billet caps and spacers for 2.75 mains, 60 mm roller cam bearings, with a custom billet cam from Comp Cams (spec'd by us), .937 jesel keyed lifters/bushings, jeff johnson two piece oil pan with Peterson R4 single stage external pump. The heads are A460 trick flow heads with titanium valves, jesel rockers and pac springs, the A460 intake is plumbed with a fogger system by Induction Solutions, topped with a Braswell dominator.
The engine makes over 1000hp on VP C23 fuel, NA in race trim with 30 degrees of timing.
Previous to this year we have been 7.72@177 in NMCA Xtreme Street with this combo at 3270lbs. We have to run an .038 jet in XS trim (450HP of nitrous)
We just took the engine off the dyno and we are up a few ponies from our 7.72 pass. We will be out testing within a few weeks and getting ready for the start of the NMCA season in Bradenton on March 10th.

Sounds like a real nice piece. Do you think the smaller journals are worth the extra effort? I only ask because I don't know.

For us they are, only because we run it over 8000 all the time and its worth a few ponies... in our limited heads up application, we are looking for 5-10hp all the time.
For most people, no.

NICE!!!! i always thought a good A head would be competitive in XS. i haven't followed it in a few years, what are the front runners running? last i was watching it was 7.90's.
looks like the motor plate is attached to the heads only? i always wondered if it would cause problems lifting head gaskets.

hey tjs been following your car for along time now! runs pretty darn good for a 565 bbf at 3200lbs. you run the pac springs on your heads and was wondering which springs are you running? don't know if your cam is a secret or not but my cam is in the area of 860 so was going to get the pac-1224# springs! just wondering which ones your running to 8000rpms!

7.71 was the record in 2014, 7.68 was the record after the first race because of a mixup with the turbo weight and a turbo car went 7.60, (the turbo got 300lbs after that).
Should be around 7.65-7.68 this year as well.

I'll find out what spring we run, but it probably wont help you, we run almost an inch of lift and our spring would be over 500 on the seat if it was set up for 860 lift.
The whole valve train package is what allows us to run 8000+, .937 lifters 1/2" pushrods, jesel rockers, light Ti valves, etc.

Are you running the Racecraft K member that uses the Stiletto rack? If you are do you got room between the front on the oil pan and the rack?

We made our K member. I didnt want to pay the premium for the racecraft unit. They make nice parts, but I have a bender, tig welder and a tape measure. I have about an inch in between my k member and oil pan. Nothing under the pan except the NHRA legal belly pan.
