Is there a better cam?
I am rebuilding an old motor that I first built back in 2003, is a dove block .080over with srp flattops around 11.5 comp. Scat h beam rods balanced ass with stock 1970 460 crank. The heads are c9ve with 2.19/1.76 valves heavily ported. It was originally built for an 18ft jet boat which it was in for 5 years topped with a we and tunnel ram with 2 750dp holleys. I chose what I thought was the best cam option back then, its a comp300ar-10 solid roller. This combo pushed that boat to 93mph and spun a bronze aggressor (b) to 5900rpms. Now fast foward to now, that boat is long gone but I kept the motor and is now going into a 20ft mini day cruiser, the only change is I bought a victor intake and a Biggs 1050 dominator carb. Also has offshore water jacketed 2inch exhaust. Am hoping for same rpm range in new boat but I think it won't pull.it with out the tunnel ram. Is there a cam out there now to get anymore out of this combo, would a custom cam be the answer? I know its a single pattern cam and I thought Fords make more power with split. Any advice would be helpful, thanks.

So I am guessing
that everyone runs a custom cam, especially in boats?

Boat engines are usually built to that person's priorities so, they are mostly all different. The camshaft should probably be, also; (most of the time).
