Yup...I worked at a Lincoln Mercury dealer in '69 and '70. There are a lot of owner added "improvements" on that one that need to disappear.
4000 lbs. of fun, and a nice car...but too rare to have all the graphics foof and other nonsense. It needs to be original, IMO.
This reminds me....I used to chase parts...sometimes in a Boss 302 Cougar Eliminator. How many of you have ever seen one of those?

I think the Magnum 500 wheels that came on that car were chrome/black with stainless trim rings....I think.

I could be wrong, but I don't think that I am; but all 70-71 Torino's, Fairlane's, Falcon's, and Montego's had standard front disc brakes when equipped with a 429. This car has the wrong brake pedal for sure, and it appears to have drums in the front too. Looks sketchey to me. Good luck getting $35K.

^^^^ Good catch, I did not even notice that. The 3.25 Detroit locker seemed odd to me. I thought the Detroits would be on 4.30's with a Drag Pack and it would be a SCJ then. I guess it could be ordered as claimed but, have not seen it before? People usually ask double around here on Craigs List and haggle down. I also would not be surprized if it was a clone.

3.25 DL is odd only in TL I believe, it was either 3:91 / 4:11 / 4:30 forget the 35K not realistic, interior is poor, badging/striping is wrong, but the brakes could be legit, 2 1/2" drums on the rear and most started as base models, all options were not always added, I have seen BBF Mach 1's, and Torino's with drum fronts, a pal of mine owned a wrecking yard and was a Ford collector too.

I have owned four 69 Cougars, and yes I have seen them... most do not know they produced more Boss 302 Cougars than they produced Mustangs.

http://www.hemmings.com/magazine/mus/2010/12/Late-Bloomer---1970-Mercury-Cyclone-Spoiler/3693111.html Here's a Drag Pak with 3.91's. The article mentions 4.30's as a Super Drag Pak and it does say front disc were optional.

Re: Nice 429CJ
What I cannot see in the picture is an external oil cooler (not enough engine compartment pictured), all drag pack cars as I recall should have had 4-bolt blocks (not always as Ford was not consistent on this), external oil cooler, higher lift SFT cam, nodular 31 spline detroit locker (3.91 / 4.11 / 4.30) most body styles also had staggered rear shocks.

Re: Nice 429CJ
Falcon I don't see were he was claiming it as a Drag Pak car, just a Ram Air CJ with a Detroit Locker. If you could order 1/2 ton trucks back then from Ford with a Detroit I would think it might be possible to get one in a car, just not common.

Went to a guys house in Northwestern Wva. one time looking for FE parts. He lived in a rundown trailer with 2 ole shack garages out back. he had a original unmolested (nice) Boss 302 Cougar and a 428 Eliminator in parts in those shed/Garages.
