Re: Lunati Cam and Comp Magnum Timing Chain
These 1.460" springs with the old SVO retainers ended up replacing the SVO D221 springs. They were a little light on seat pressure. Installed height ended up around 1.870". Seal clearance a little tighter then I would have liked for the lift with stock guide height but it worked fine before and lift is only going up about .020" from the old cam. I measured the wear mark on the valve from the guide and interestingly enough the spec. .540" cam was only moving the valve about .500" by my estimation. Time to round up a degree wheel, put it in at 0 with the Comp. 3122 chain, and shooting for a 104ICL.

Should sound close to this one but, I have 8.5/1 compression not 10.5 like in the video. Dynamic works out to around 7.8-7.9 by the cam card and Wallace.

I think it is close enough. Kind of hard to turn the engine over with the pistons and rods in. It kept coming up at 104ICL if I did everyting correctly, which is what the cam card calls for.

Re: Lunati Cam and Comp Magnum Timing Chain
http://www.lunatipower.com/Tech/Cams/HowToDegreeACam.aspx Went and double checked it again. Cam card calls for intake opening at 8.5 degrees BTDC. I checked it about 10 times and come up with between 9.5 to 10 degrees BTDC. That would make it 1 to 1.5 degrees advanced or a 102.5 to 103 ICL. I guess chain stretch will bring it back in spec. after it runs a while and it also may be the instruments and operators eyes are not perfect either.

Anybody after a Stealth 8012 Intake or a 850 Double Pumper. Will consider trades on a Holley List 4779 or 4781. I don't really like Crome Carbs or ProComp but, it looks nice and was told it ran well.

If you don't want to drill out your buddies degree wheel and get cut off from using tools, the last pic. is a make shift adapter made from a balancer bolt and the correct size bolt for a small diameter degree wheel. I did end up with a lock nut at the rear also.

Gotta love new in the box CompCams High Energy Lifters for $37.75 to your door. Should have bought every set he had, still may. It's coming together nicely.

Three Set of
Lifters. 1. The ones that came with the Lunati cam that where thought to be Comps. 2. The known new Comp 832-16's 3. The ones that survived shipping with the Comp 270 4x4 cam that where also said to be Comp Cams. As can be seen in the right side of the picture it is different then the first two.
