Re: what pistons and rods are these?
Here's the deal. I've aquired a set of rods and pistons ( and a load of other stuff) for my BBF and the pistons look like real high CR ones, they fit my CC'c perfectly and they came with 7 conrods too.
These rods have Howard stamped on them and they are Ally, have the gudgeon pins (wrist pins to you guys) and all seem to be mated.
Soooo, I was after another rod. I need to do some more research and I'll pop some pics up of what I have to see if any of you guys recognise them at all.

Re: what pistons and rods are these?
From MY personal experience with HOWARD's rods, I'd strongly suggest you have the existing ones zyglo inspected BEFORE looking for another one. IF they are the new style forgings...they may be OK but, ALL of the older ones (3 sets) have been cracked just below the pins. Kinda makes ya wonder what happened to the missing rod???
Re: what pistons and rods are these?
That's what I thought too. I'll pop some pics up later of the rods and pistons

Have a look here
https://s396.photobucket.com/albums/pp49/fozwanger/460%20parts/
Dims ofpistons
OD 4.360
Across skirt 4.3830
Centre of gudgeon pin to top of piston (base of dome area) 1.70
Dome height 0.500
G/pin diameter 1.39
Gap between lands of gudgeon pin 1.31
I took these measurements with a pair of verniers (or very nears as we call them here)
Thanks in advance
Jeff
Any comments welcomed
