Fox doors gutted

I've gutted the doors on my car. It had roll up windows. About how much weight have I taken off? I got lexan going back in.

What all did you remove?

Everything, reinforcment, glass and all.

I'd think 10-15 lbs a side at the most..

The reinforcmenet alone weigh at least 15 or 20. I was just wondering that's all.

I don't remember the beams weighing that much. Been a while though since I gutted a set.

Ok I'm gonna weigh all the scraps. Besides the hatch and fenders and hood, do u know of anymore spots to get some weight off?

about 15 lbs , there is a couple diff crash bars one looks like a piece of guardrail heaviest, and one has a piece of tubing and guardrail.
bumpers and absorbers can be removed or some had alum. bumpers from the fact. if you want to keep a bumper.
attack with whole saw lol!

The doors now weigh about 10 lbs each after removing what you have.... more to take YES right behind the doors on the body it self the quarter panels are doubled you can cut the inner structure out with a cut off wheel.

Are there any special techniques to removing the door beams? I need to keep functional windows as this is a Drag Week/ True street/ street driven car so I can only trim some of the inside door structure. Its hard to tell exactly how they are tied into the over all structure. (my first Fox build)

I'm not sure how to keep functional windows. I hacked everything out.
