How bad does your car run off the bottle? ;)
A customer and I was having a conversation and he was worried how his car was going to run because on the first shakedown run it only ran a 6.04. On one kit it ran 4.70's. lol.

I have no experience in drag racing but in mud racing off the bottle is not so good when they are built for the giggle gas. Cams and torque converters are usually the culprit.

Engines which don't use that artificial horsepower run great without it.

5.7s and 9.0s on motor never sprayed. Car is 3150# on E85 with a full 4" exhaust over the axle.

No I don't think the rest of the package is up for it. Amazing to see poor NA numbers and huge gains on spray.

If we changed the converter it would be a different animal. Ours dropped 2600 off bottle. Doesn't do that on spray.

2600 rpm reduction must be a huge amount of spray. That makes sense on the converter where the stall is way to high.whatbumper wrote:Dave De wrote:68formalGT wrote:Dave De wrote:5.7s and 9.0s on motor never sprayed. Car is 3150# on E85 with a full 4" exhaust over the axle.

I run 10.00 normally , best ever was 9.95 on motor , Not really sure on the bottle because i ran outta rpm coming up to the 1000' box , i would love to know tho, its not a nos converter , and it has 3.90 gears and shift at 66-6700 but was out of steam fast on the bottle.

The calculator says 9.46 at 141mph for your quarter mile conversion using your 1/8th mile data from the sprayed run.

I've been thinking about trying it again.its been many years but the old 400m went 6.80 NA and 5.70's on the jug.(nos big shot plate) I'd need another converter and change back to gas to hit it pretty hard...... I haven't ran it since last year but it ran well NA.

6.01 on na motor. Heading to a track rental today for her first time getting sprayed. 100 shot delayed 2.2 off the line for hopefully a 5.90. Index
If all looks good then maybe go larger later. If the converter does ok.

Re: How bad does your car run off the bottle? ;)
Good deal , I cant want to try it now that i put a anti roll bar in a few weeks ago because it sure made a difference , those 4 slips at the tnt was with the worst possible track conditions , they had to stop to dry it twice because it was spitting rain off and on , it would've never had a 1.40 60' that night , a buddy took some video from behind and it looks great i think , Last time on the bottle it squatted so bad it chewed the right rear slick some , now should be fine. First pic was all motor before the ARB , and videos are with it on all motor from the tnt night.Dave De wrote:nuclearcobra wrote:I run 10.00 normally , best ever was 9.95 on motor , Not really sure on the bottle because i ran outta rpm coming up to the 1000' box , i would love to know tho, its not a nos converter , and it has 3.90 gears and shift at 66-6700 but was out of steam fast on the bottle.

It has a homemade type ladder bar under it with dodge omni springs and lakewood 50/50 shocks that always worked well other than squatting down on that side bad , best 60' ever was 1.37 in cool weather and perfect track conditions.
