Oliver or Callies Ultra rods
Which rods for a truck pulling engine. It is a 4.160 stroke with 6.800 length rods.
Do I go with the tried and true Oliver I-beam rods or the new Callies Ultra I-beam. Which bolt would you want in either rod?

Either one is a great choice. The standard bolts are good for most applications

I never thought much of Oliver rods I know too many people who have broken them in a rather short time. In fact those same people had better luck from Eagle rods. That was a few years ago and maybe they are better now.

Either will workout great.my Oliver rods hung on when I had piston to head contact and knocked the bearing out.it got hot and distorted to the point you can see between the cap and rod but it stayed in one piece.
