Windage tray bolts
Building a 429 mild motor for my truck.
I need windage tray bolts with the stud to attach a windage tray.
I think I am on the right track - my machinist says that I do not need an align bore. All is good.
But if I use main bearing studs instead of the original bolt type won't I have to have it aligned bored.
I think that I have heard that the crush is different or that the different torque on the studs that I will have to get it align bored.
If that is the case I will just order the Canton windage tray bolts with the tray stud included.
Am I correct?
Thanx

Re: Windage tray bolts
We used studs on my 505 - in the end I believe he (Koerner) fabricated studs with little smaller studs machined by CNC to mount the Tray. I remember he spent many many hours on that deal....
Good Luck

Got the Canton ones
Yes, and I am please with these. Seems to be a direct replacement with the stock bolts. So I will not need to have the block aligned honed.
Thanx all for your replies.
