porting A429's
I have a set of A429's that I bought used with port work already done, going off things that I have seen on here and "the mad porter's" site I cleaned them up a little but have no idea what they flow. I have them on a 466 and I think it runs very well. my question is, is there any one that will do port work on heads that have already been ground on. I have seen on here certain guys have got 380cfm or more out of these heads and that's what id be looking for.

There are a number of places who will help them, me included, however, there may be areas where nothing can be machined to help them because there is already metal ground away where it should not be removed. Those areas will not get touched except to be smoothed out a bit.
This may hurt the finished job some.
The valve and seat angles as part of the finished valve job are really important.

Mark,
Mine were already ported when I got them but I sent them off to Charlie and he tweaked them to make a little more power. This was back in 07 or 08, don't remember exactly.

I've often thought of selling my top end and going "Bigger" like an A460 setup but it's been working so well... If it aint broke, don't fix it

Re: porting A429's
The A429's seemed to work awesome on my 466 but I spun a rod bearing so it is broke, so I'm building it bigger and better! I'm putting together a 545 with a roller cam instead of the Blake the Snake solid flat tappet ( it will be a custom from Blake). I was thinking of having the A429's worked on, then I thought of selling them and buying a "newer" head like P51's. Then I thought, unless I jump to a A460 head , which will cost a lot more to make the needed changes, I'll just use my A429's as is and see what they will do.D. Wise choice. My roller was a collective effort from Tree Lem and The Snake. I call it the Albert Clark Barbed Wire Bad Attitude Roller
