Dry, plated, grade 8 7/16-20 bolt is 58#. I'd say with a little oil 50-55 is plenty.

I normally use an alloy rod bolt which torques to 80 pounds. "Double Pinning" an aggressive roller cam can use less.

It is single pin. I went 60ftlbs with red loc tite . Should I go 80 ftlbs ?

Have you used "red loc-tite" before on a cam and removed? I have found that red loc-tite usually lays a hurt on the fastener or the thread when removed, I usually use the blue, talking the color of the liquid sealer not the tube it comes in.

Yeah I use loc tite on a,lot of fasteners. I have a loc tite rep that comes and talkes with my students. I take a little butane torch and heat it up and it comes right out.

A good thick flat washer is a must also. A chevy harmonic balancer washer works great.
I use a grade 10 SHCS torqued to 75 ft lbs.

SBC
I buy 5 at a time ... and use the ARP hardened alloy, .275" thick washer #200-8717.
The ones directly from Chevrolet and regular parts houses are not hardened but, do work well most of the time.
