Godzilla
Anybody heard about the new small block pushrod engine coming from Ford.
7.3 liter (445 cubic inch)
direct injected
Crosbolted mains
4.527 bore space
4.11 bore
2.200 intake valve
Going into ford truck engine line up and possibly the new Bronco and Mustangs.
Roush is already machining blocks for it.
I hope this is true...........
Should remove a ton of LS engines from fox Mustangs.

Re: Godzilla
4.18 stroke, that should produce some low end torque.

If the Bronco is coming back does that mean the Ranger is coming back too?

Re: Godzilla
It seems hard to believe that Ford would go back to a pushrod engine in a new vehicle in this day and age. I know the new Raptor is a Eco-boost V-6 with around 450 hp.
Could be the new engine is a crate engine, which would be a great alternative from the current offerings.

Hopefully they build the Bronco to compete with the Jeep Rubicon.

How did they look? Did they make it bigger to compete with the Colorado/Canyon?

Re: Godzilla
Those little diesels are amazing for fuel economy, if Ford could come out with one that would run with the Ecoboost in both get up and go and towing for the F150 and down............

Re: Godzilla
The Rangers are in South American as well. I think everywhere except the US. Probably CARB and EPA. Anyhow, they even call the diesels Powerstrokes. They are small like the old rangers but crew cabs. This makes me wonder if we will get a totally different version here in North American because the Explorer has grown much larger the the old Rangers.
As far as the Bronco Ford say 2020. The Ranger was sooner.

Here it is.
Rangers are real popular here now. Almost catching up to the Toyota hilux (most sold vehicle is Australia)
At the moment the biggest engine we get is a 3.2L 5cyl diesel.
Designed in Australia conjointly by Ford and Mazda. Manufactured in Thailand.
