460 into a 1968 Torino
Hello all,
My son just purchased a 1968 Torino GT roller.
The original engine is unknown.
We are wanting to drop in a DOVE-C'S headed 460 and top loader 4 speed combination into it. We're just wondering if it's a bolting deal, or if it will even fit in the engine bay.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Good vehicle to build ! With my experience with the Torinos and fairlanes , most headers for the 70 and 71 429 Torino will fit the 68 and 69 Torino . Engine stands will enterchange too. These items I know are bolt in deals so it is for the most part a plug and play deal. Good luck and post of some pics !

Here's a shot of the car when we went and looked at it.
We'll be bringing it home this afternoon

Picture needs to be hosted on another site like Photobucket and then the image link added here.
Sounds like a fun project. I used to have a 1969 R code Big Block FE Ranchero. Was a real pain working on the headers. Hope you have small hands and wrists LOL

Were removing the shock towers and doing the full rack & pinion / double A arm, coil-overs conversion. Also switching from an auto transmission to stick.
We'd love to put a top loader in it, but the ones we've found seem very pricey.
I'd love to know if there were a 5 speed that I could source from a wrecking yard that would hold up to +/- 550 hp
