Any Difference Between 460 EFI and Carb Blocks
My 86 had a rod let go, I can buy a 97 engine that I know is good. My question is can I strip the 97 down to a shortblock and use the external parts from the 86 on the 97. Like the heads, timing cover, oil pan, and so on.
Also I have a little bigger cam, I don't remember the exact specs but I do know the lift is 480 on both valves. I have heard the EFI valve angles are different so the pistons are different and that valves from D3VE heads may hit. So my question here is can I use the cam from my 86 in the 97.
Thanks for any and all help

79 (D9) and up blocks will not fit the earlier factory internal balance cranks.
But all aftermarket stroker kits will fit all blocks.
The later blocks have longer cylinders.
Other than that they interchange
