Wutta bunch....
....of great people we pull together at our annual bash/party/race/reunion/cookout/swapmeet/bullshit session/techtalk...ah, hell, I don't know what to call it! Pick a reason to be there next year and DO IT..
Wes, you're our hero. Hats of too you and your family. The effort and dedication you pour into making us whiners happy is amazing.
Phillip, that's the coolest engine shop I've ever seen. Your hospitality for this bunch is so great and so appreciated.
Lem, even when nobody is picking your brain you're an entertaining s.o.b. Always fun to see you. Thanks for what you do.
Keith....your attitude toward racers and racing defines the sport.
Randy,,,just shooting the shit with you is a party by itself.
Btw, if anybody didn't get overfed at this deal...it's your own fault.
Now, a moment of silence in memory of all those we've lost, prayers for all family and friends of the Bozelles...and hopes that we won't need to add any more names to our list of reasons for calling this a "memorial" race. Mike, I choked up watching your slow memorial pass...so appropriate yet so hard to watch.
So now, I know I'm leaving lots of folks out in my "thank you", so jump in, guys and highlight your favorite stuff.
Oh, by the way...there was some good racing there, too.

And, oh, yeah....There were a bunch of locals who came to race...and got picked on by a bully in a Pinto. Cheers, Randy
and, umm....Dan-o, I'm sure you were unaware of how much troule you were in when we lined up in the semis. ...until my sweaty finger slid off the t-brake button and I left a couple of days early Sorry I didn't make that a better race. Hats off to you in your win.

Special shout out to my pit guy, Graham Martin. Best help I ever had, stayed close to the car and the cranky driver. Never had to look for him...always on the job. Thanks a heap, Graham.

Good time! I had fun giving "the freelader" some driving tips in his 6.50 car. I forgot to tell him wheelie bars are not what you stand on to put fuel in the car........

Re: Wutta bunch....
We're just in, so this will be sort of short for now...
The Memorial pass....Same as It was 6 years ago , when Dee and I did it at Windy Hollow....
Same tears in the eyes, wishing We didn't have to do it...
I wanted Josh to make the pass in the Torino, as I thought it was more"fitting" for a lack of a better word...
But I was honored that Wes asked me to do it..
Thanks to Wes and his family for ALL they did for this race/ group !!!
Thanks to the sponsors that supported the race, because without them...... need I say more...
Thanks to everybody that brought Food and /or cooked.. Melvin , breakfast was off the Chain !!!!
Also , Thanks to Freelander for being the butt end of ALOT of jokes this weekend ... Ya know we love ya..!!!
BUT.. Most of all... Thanks to my wife for cooking for the masses and putting up with the madness !!!!
How many more weeks til the next one ????

Re: Wutta bunch....
I got home several hours ago and was already thinking about the next one. No other race track in the world can you have a friend bring a spare cam, a engine master have a drill bushing to double pin a cam gear then help drill the gear, then take the time to show me how to check piston to valve clearance without pulling the head. Thanks a bunch Randy and Blake. It is hard to explain the hurt we all experienced after Leroy passed. We lost a family member and friend. Those of you who debate whether to come and then don't have no idea what you are missing. Hats off to Wes for another great job. What a weekend!

On behalf of my Son Graham thanks. He really had a blast. Didnt want to leave for home. Too busy hanging out at Uncle Wes' Redneck kitchen!maverick wrote:Special shout out to my pit guy, Graham Martin. Best help I ever had, stayed close to the car and the cranky driver. Thanks for taking Graham under your wing and showing him the ropes. He is talking to his freinds about running your car arround in the pits!
Regards.

Re: Wutta bunch....
I just want to say thank you to everyone there who continue to make this EVENT a "can't miss" time for me.
Melvin ... after all that work you did and then breaking the rear gears to not even get one run afterward ...
My special thanks to Dee for being there to oblige my abnormal coffee habit.

Yeh...It did get said...just not by me. Cheers and hats off to a real friend, benefactor and hero to the entire Ford racing community.
I should be shot for omitting that one. Lem and B.F Evans Ford go right up on the top shelf! My most sincere apology to you, Lem.
