eagle rods in 545
i have a used engine with eagle rods in it.it has some miles on it but bearings look good.it was not a race engine, low rpm street truck.bolts are arp l-19.i am upgrading engine for bracket racer in 68 mustang, with a bigger cam, victor intake and 1050 dominator.
should i replace the bolts with new ones,or just retorque them.?

There is no reason why you can't reuse the rod bolts. L-19 bolts are strong but can be weakened by corrosion. If you see any corrosion then replace them. That material is prone to corrosion. The 2000 material from ARP is overlooked as being not as capable but it is not likely to corrode.

Dan,
I have a set of SPS CARR bolts if you want to change bolts. Let me know . Remember I'm right around the corner.

Look them over very closely, make sure they don't show any traces of twist, stretch, flaking, etc.
