A BIT OFF TOPIC, BUT ------
Hey, guys: I'm in the process of putting my 60 Starliner back together, and I've run into a problem! Before I wind up ruining the windshield trim (any more than I already have), or breaking the windshield ($$$$) I have to ask -- how the hell do I get this locking trim back on around the windshield?? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Can't help you with the trim, Wayne...but I LOVE a '60 Starliner.

I'm not familiar with that car but if it's the type that goes in the rubber gasket I always put gasket on glass, trim in gasket and whole thing in the car with a string. If it has clips and it snaps on it shouldn't be any problem as long as the glass is not too high, like a 3/8 kit was used or something.

Thanks for your reply - I was afraid that might be the way. What I fear the most is breaking this glass - it ain't easy to find! Might seek the help of a professional to do it!

Does the glass use a gasket around it, or does it sit in the channel with that goop stuff around it??

My 70 f-100 had the trim that went in the gasket. My professional glass guy wouldn't touch it! Me and my dad put both front and back in with a string and a couple of plastic tools for glass installation.O...I almost forgot all the skinned knuckles and cussing!

No goop around the glass, just a big fat rubber gasket / seal, that seems to be very hard from age. I can get new gaskets, cut the old ones rather than risk breaking the glass trying to remove it intact. This is an expensive lesson - had I known, I would have just worked around the trim, and left it alone - but too late.
