SCJ valve angles.
I am putting a set of SCJ heads together (2.25 Int/1.76 Exh) and was wondering about the angles 35 deg. or 40 ? Put a 32 deg. backcut? What is the current thinking?
Thanks,
Michael.

Re: SCJ valve angles.
I'm assuming you are talking about the angles on the valve job. The heads should have an appropriate valve job on them from Ford. I believe the top angle is 35*, the seat angle is 45* and under that there should be a 60* angle, then a 75* angle, to the throat which is 90*. As far as the valves themselves, for some reason they do not have a backcut from Ford. By all means put a backcut on the intakes. It should be 30* and about .075" to .080" wide. The width is critical. Don't worry about putting a backcut on the exhausts. You can open the i.d. of the exhaust throat up some and it will help the flow on them.
Hope this helps,
