Wide Ratio Kit
Frank Merkel, do you have a recommendation for a wide ratio C6 kit? I need to get one ready for your 2nd gear Trans brake.

Does this kit work with your billet drum?

Re: Wide Ratio Kit
Have you used wide ratio gearing in your transmissions before and if so how did they hold up? Are they as strong as the stock C6 parts?

Re: Wide Ratio Kit
haven't used the wide ratio yet , but we do go through front planetarys as we shut the the car off at 200mph every run and tow back so there is no oiling happening then , and I will have the 2nd gear brakes done this winter

I hope I'm still on the list . Let me know when it's done, I've got a fresh transmission with your billet drum (and the other one too) ready to go for next season.

Re: Wide Ratio Kit
I have two wide ratio transmissions. One is in my race car hauler ( F350 , 22 ft box) and really like it. It is a genuine needle besring Ford kit with the four pinion planets as the 6 was not available back then (14 years ago) . I just finished doing one I pieced together for my daily driver '67 Ranchero with 521 power. I used the needle bearing 4 planets with it too BUT it is not a dedicated race car and it doesn't have a manual valve body or trans brake ( obviously) . 6 pinion only for race cars .
