Old enough that I am sure their primary method of communication is NOT PM's or Facebook messenger etc...

I wander why his response[I'm near Wintersville] didn't show up on my computer and now the picture of his T-Bird in his Avatar isn't showing up either[kind of strange]?

Offended by the 'try a phone' comment..... NOT AT ALL. It gave me an epiphany. I'm older too. Hence my ID, awgeez, homage to Archie Bunker. "Aw geez Edith". I have never made a comment on facetwit, and i never will. However email seems to be the preferred method of the current climate of the world.
There does seem to be ALOT of condescending replies, remarks, etc. on this and just about any other forum i have ever visited. Opinions are like anus', everybody has one. My current project i will handle myself with the assistance of people i can stand in front of and look directly in the eyes. No disrespect Blake, you came highly recommended. But TN is a bit far to do that. Which is why i rescinded my PM. The whole top secret 'dam what did you do to that t-bird' surprise to my fellow racers has lost it's luster. And will now include every single person i consider a friend. You should cherish friends while you can.
While the interweb is a vast resource containing an endless amount of information, both good and bad, i'm going back to old-school for this build. Get in my truck and drive to the shop, builder, vendor. I'll be around, watching and listening. When i get to completion, i will post my results for any who may want them.
Until that time gentlemen, drive it like it's a rental.
It all makes sense to me any time I've had machine work or Porting work my buddy may he R.I.P It was all local to me!!! Any idea what happened to the T-Bird picture in your avatar it disappeared on my end?I had a 88 T-Bird with my 466 in it but I have it in a 89 Mustang now!!!

awgeez wrote:A little off topic, but I went the other way Mark, i had a 90 notch and sold it to get a tbird. I got tired of looking like everybody else, a black LX coupe with a cowl hood. LOL My goal with the LX was 9.99 N/A no juice stroked small block on pump gas. I was close thanks to Foxlake's head work and 2650lbs with me in it. I'm 6'6" 250. I got to 10.12@133.94. Huge top-end soft launch with that converter. Different converter got me a 10.12@128.86, vicious launch though. wheels 5' in the air going past the tree. Forced me to short shift to 2nd to bring it down to where i could see where i was going.
Bird going to take ALOT more power to do all that, it weighs 3305 BBF with me in it before i started her on a diet. 1910 on the front, YIKES. Alum heads should be 60lbs. glass hood, Kmember, QA-1 control arms, alum driveshaft, Aerospace brakes all the way around, lighter front wheels. I'll have NMRA weigh it in June.
I wanted to do another T-Bird but couldn't find a decent body wise one here in the rust belt Northeast,Ohio without going down south!!! What tracks do you race at Quaker,Thompson,Norwalk or Dragway42?

This bird has been a 'pro-street' since the early 90s. Not a spot of rust anywhere. It wasn't built right, but was solid enough to have potential. I don't know who built it. Someday when i get to where i'm going, ill have solid non-power doors and front clip for sale.
Mag? Magnolia 1/8 mile? Post some more pictures of the T-Bird if you can?I haven't been to National Trail for 5 or 6 years I think.I liked it when they changed the NMRA to Norwalk but now NMRA is back at National Trail again it's further away then Norwalk for me and Norwalk is a lot nicer IMO!!! I haven't been to Dragway 42 since they reopened maybe this year!!!!

Re: Head porter
awgeez wrote:Yes, Magnolia. You will be hard pressed to find a finer facility than Norwalk. Mostly because of the welcoming atmosphere. You are a customer and Bill Bader is extremely happy that you came there. I have seen him standing at the gate thanking every racer that came in. I dont have many pics of the bird. If it did not already have a 771 pound big block in it when i bought it, it would not have 1 in it now. I am intrigued by the thought of a coyote (450 lbs). I passed on a full glass tbird body for $1200 a couple years ago. It was new, but 30 years old.
I thought about the Coyote route with my car but I couldn't get the money out of the Big Block to afford the Coyote plus if I ever went the Coyote route I would probably go stick shift or with the 6R80 Auto transmission that came in the 2011 -2017 5.0 Mustangs!!! :)If interested I have a picture of my engine posted at the top above the Engine Tech section in post engine pictures!!!
