2.3" intake valves
Whats involved to install 2.3" intake valves in D00E-R heads? Will they fit with 1.76 exhausts?
Thanks, Sheldon

Re: 2.3" intake valves
Need to reduce the exhaust valve down to 1.71 IMO
Not sure their is a giant power gain to be had in the 2.300 on the iron, need a lot of porting and the port may get sloppy on flow.

Re: 2.3" intake valves
Thanks Dave,
Considering pulling an intake valve to see if they have a decent back cut on them and if not maybe go to 2.3" as well. Just gonna stay 2.25 if I have to change exhaust valves too.

Re: 2.3" intake valves
In my opinion, the 2.300" intake & 1.71" exhaust is the best alternative for power in the iron Cobra Jet heads.
Especially when installing hard exhaust seats in 'em.

Re: 2.3" intake valves
I've had all seats & guides replaced due to having some repair done that required welding on 1 exhaust port in ea head. There was some porosity in the left side port wall of # 4 & #5, the same place in each head that was leaking into the exhaust ports, all good now. Does reducing from 1.76 to smaller 1.71 valves sink the valves too much when cutting new seats? Can 2.3" intake valves be done by just cutting the seats larger?
Thanks,Sheldon

Seat the valves at 50 degrees and the 1.71" does not sink much at all.
