Opinions on Pro Comp Connecting Rods
These came in my 521 stroker kit. They are I-beams with capscrew bolts.
Anyone ever use these things?
Couldn't find ANY information on the net regarding Ford applications but the Chevy builders I came across didn't have anything good to say about them.
Thanks.

Rice Rods
If they managed to get the metal right, Getting them machined right would be doubtful as there products are for a cheap alternative.

The OEM spec replacement I-beam rods are fine for their intended OEM spec applications. The high performance H-beam and high performance I-beam race rods are fine within their advertised HP ratings, however as you approach those max ratings you should do a rod bolt upgrade to ARP etc. Like any new set of rods, measure and inspect before installation.1EFF100 wrote:These came in my 521 stroker kit. By the time you "correct" them , they cost the same or more than a Scat or Eagle.

May not be Oliver quality, but for a lot of builds there good enough, dang site better than a stock rod.

YES ... they are probably "junk" for those people who claim to be engine builders and yet expect to take parts directly out of the box and use them without any messaging.
The wrist pin clearance is usually wrong on ANY brand rod you take right out of the box but, they will probably go together.
