water leak Empty water leak

I have a weep coming from the timing cover and I don't have the time to pull the front of the engine off to correct it.
What is the best thing I can use to try to get the seepage to stop? I have an electric water pump also.
I also have siliconed the bolts on the front of the block that go into the water passages just in case this was the cause.

Thanks Tore

Tore,

Is it a new(er) timing cover or an OEM from 1971-ish? I've seen several older OEM covers that are corroded badly which could cause a leak.

You could try draining the water out of it and letting it dry, smear some silicone where the leak is and check the bolts. That's gotten me by for a bit. No guarantees though...

If you are sure it is leaking outward only and not into the crankcase then that works a lot of the time.

Moroso makes a sealer I used in my copper head gasket engine. It works very good!
