v-drive boat guys come on in..

been looking at a 78 Eliminator mini cruiser. I don't know much about the eleminators of the 78 era as far as quality. what is inticeing about this boat it has a 429/460 with the D00R-E heads. I do know that. C-6 blah blah blah. my first boat was a 76 schiada w a 454 jet drive. like the boat.moved on to bigger things. just sold a 2000 Baja 272, 502 mercruiser bravo one. bought it new had it for 18 yrs. looking to bring some California muscle to Texas. I'm still waiting on the fuell specs on the boat as far as the engine and trans is concern. did Eleminator put SCJ's in there boats back then? I really don't know much about the v-drives. I have driven one once, kinda cool. but what do I need to look for or problem area's.... I'm really digging the BBf SCJ head deal though. thanks homies
