Lightweight steering column for a fox.
21 pounds............
7 pounds........
Mike Duffy whipped us up this bolt in column, bought some joints and a fireproof boot from Jerry Bickel, quick release hub from Strange, Wheel from Jegs.
A lot of money for 14 pounds but the cool factor is an added bonus.
Welding required................

Re: Lightweight steering column for a fox.
Mike found some kind of bushing material that is self-lubricating, he just machines it down to fit the tubing.
Pretty slick deal.

Re: Lightweight steering column for a fox.
When I was building my steering I couldn't find the replacement bushings and made my own bushings out of a peace of steel pipe od 1 1/2" with a id of 1/2" had to bore it out to just 3/4" and polished it on the inside and made them where I can put a shot of grease in them but would have been easier with the nylon bushings mine is about 15# with steering wheel mine has 3 jionts in it

Some times dirt track stores/shops will also carry the plastic bushings in a number of different sizes ideal for light weigh steering column & anti-roll use.
