mud truck seems lazy
I have a well build 79 ford shortbox mud truck .. 38.5 boggers skinny, c6 with edge 5500 stall, NO trans brake, run low range on a 205 (1.98) , 4:10 gears, 700hp 460....
No matter what i do its lazy off the line.... stall it to 3500 and let it eat and the tires don't really light off...
is it possible the converter is too loose? or any suggestions
thanks

If the convertor is very loose, it will rev but not grab like it should.
If its very tight, it will seem like it kinda bogs off the line.

Transmission is slipping or the converter has come apart, or your shift linkage is out of adjustment fluid level wrong .

I should have said ... transmission has 3 years of racing on it. with 2 different motors in front of it. and it has always been this way since I built the truck. fluid is red and full. No bog off the line

Re: mud truck seems lazy
Have any videos? On 38.5" boggers in the mud 700hp isn't really THAT much power.. It's stout for sure, but not light em up and skim the top crazy.
I notice mine really takes off once I shift into 2nd gear, but is a little lazy in 1st gear off the hit, I just assume not enough wheel speed because of my gearing. I have a 700hp/700tq (dynoed) 552, 4.56 gears, C6, low range, run 32.5" super scoops (measure ~ 36" paddle tip to paddle tip) on the rear, 35" M/T MTZ's in front. I run 300ft. sand drags with mine. Just a reference if it helps.
