OIL PAN...
I have a 1984 ford f250 Mud truck and I need a 460 oil pan that will hold more oil than stock and fit with the cross member stock..
any suggestions,
I tried to get one from milodon and it would not fit.

Re: OIL PAN...
Moroso and Canton both make them but I believe the dimensions are all similar. They are not very deep below the oil pump so it's surprising yours won't clear. Is it a factory 4x4 frame?

The 80's trucks have that big cross member in them if I recall. I believe there was a post about this on the other forum a few years ago but he ended up getting an aluminum pan made or used a fox body pan. I'll try searching more tonight.

Re: OIL PAN...
racinghabbit, was your truck an 85 or later equipped with a 460 originally? If not the motor mounts you used to swap it in may be the problem,if you used the old late 60's fairlane fe mounts with a slotted hole trick to swap it in,that typically lets the engine sit lower than it should and frequently requires shimming just to let a stock 85 and later pan to clear. The 85 and later 460 trucks used a completely different mount setup from the earlier 351M/400 trucks, the upside of that is it was all bolt in and and easily retrofitted to earlier 80's trucks but will still require some fitting to ensure oil pan to crossmemeber clearance is correct.Thats not to say that the fairlane style mounts can't be shimmed to provide the correct clearance, but if you attempt that fabricate some shims the same size as the contact patch between the mount and perch, washers will sink into the rubber of the mount over time. Also if it is an 85 or later truck make sure the stock mounts haven't sagged over the years, sometimes it happens in cases where the truck gets a lot of bouncing bolts get loose and the rubber mounts deteriorate.
