Thinking about a small nitrous kit for my sons mud truck. Was looking at nitrous outlet and nos. Thinking a 150/175 kit, to start with. Wondering how much a c9 block will take. We have a 557- 13.45 comp, tfs 325 heads, mafia intake, 1150 domi. What system do u guys suggest

Take a look at my post for "Twin Nos Fogger Plate", or look at my other posts in for sale.

FWIW,....I'm going to have my Nitrous Express kit 4-Sale by this weekend,...or Monday (04-01)at the latest. I just removed it from my truck,...in favor of a Fogger set-up. I ran it for years with good success.

Re: Good entry level nitrous kit
Thanks for the offers guys, but I would prefer a new kit. Seems I always have bad luck with used parts. I have never messed with nitrous myself. Couple guys we race with have it. But they have fogger setup. I would like to try a plate system. What kits are the best bang for a buck? Thanks cory

Re: Good entry level nitrous kit
Best bang for your buck is an IS plate setup simply because of the follow on support. Give them a call and they will give you the right tunes for your motor when you order the kit. Without knowing what your ring gaps and cam are, it's hard to say how much it can take, but my old 488 A head motor saw regular hits on a 300 tune from a plate. New motor will see much larger hits from a fogger AND a plate...

NOS sniper plate kit
Just bought a 150/250 nitrous kit. Have a MSD 6 series in box, which add on ign retard do u guys recommend? Won't be running nitrous till end of season. Just want to line all the extras up right away. I know a 7al3 would be best but nothing wrong with 6 series box have now. Thanks cory

If you are just going to run nitrous at a race you can always retard your timing with your distributor or with your crank trigger, whatever you use. Your MSD 6 will work fine with what your are trying to do.

If you are just running the single stage and using the 6al box, just get a plug in step retard from MSD to match right up. I used one of these with my old 7al-2 before I went Grid:

Ordered a MSD step retard and a Holley black pump and billet regulator. Fuel line and filter, fittings in a week or two. Kid is excited to run with nos. Went racing sunday and got fourth. All the other trucks were tube frame and fiberglass bodies. They were 800/1000 pounds lighter and shooting juice. Son ran a 4.5 sec, other trucks were 3.5/4.2sec. thought we did pretty good for racing against buggy trucks. Thanks for the advice on ign retard. Thanks cory

What size cuts are you running? If your rules allow, make sure you run cut 444's over any other size. The difference in roll out from a 39.5 to a 44 is about 18-20" for every revolution....

Re: Good entry level nitrous kit
Yeah, 44 would be nice but we got a screaming deal on the cut 39.5 and wide 5 wheels. Right now we have 105 mph wheel speed in 3rd at 6500 rpm.
The guys we race with 44 are within a couple mph of our combo.
