Custom Carburetor for pump gas 598
Who would everyone here recommend using for a custom Dominator? Engine is a street driven pump gas 598. Going to be driven 2000+ miles a year. Vehicle is being built for true street, drag week, and grudge events. I have seen AED, PRC (Steve Taylor), Devane, Davinci, Braswell, Book, etc.. all thrown out in various topics, but being that this is a street driven ride I didn't know if anyone had a preferred builder.

Dale Cubic at "CFM Performance Carburetors" is the person I'd recommend.

I forgot to mention Dale. I spoke with Steve Taylor at PRC and he was very accommodating in explaining everything and customer service was great. As for now, he has the business. Before pulling the trigger I was just attempting to make sure I did not miss anything.

Did he say 2 circuit or 3?
How big was he suggesting?

Have you considered this?:

I'm cobbling together a 572 over a long period of time, but when it's done, I want one of these...

PRC recommended a 2 circuit 1050.

I would think you could use a bigger one but a 1050 would work

I think you'd like the 2 circuit. Seems like when myself or others local have a 3 circuit, we're either in left field tuning or they just don't fly well on the street. Always nasty fat and burbling while on cruise. Switch to 2, AFR's happier and sound nice, with minimal hassle.foxbody82 wrote:PRC recommended a 2 circuit 1050.

A lot of carb modifiers, including myself, will make a special Dominator with a 2 circuit primary and a 3 circuit secondary for street driven vehicles which see strip duty.

3 circuits typically need some fine tuning.
I have a 3 circuit 1050 dominator that works fantastic on the street.
I wasn't that way OTB. T-slot restrictors cleaned up that fat burbling while cruising.
It is simply the best running carb I have ever run - but yes needed some fine tuning work.
Cheers

Agreed. Engines that see a lot of part throttle seem to like a carb with 2 circuits and a PV.

My 2 circuit 1050 Dominator works sweet on the street

You'll hate a 3 circuit for street driving. Did two Drag Weeks back in the day that way with a 580". It was a big reason I switched to EFI. I also run True Street as well.
