Re: rev kit for a 460
I don't know of any for splayed valve engines, e.g. Clevelands, or BBF. There is one for a BBC, I just don't know how much modification it would need to run on a BBF. Has anyone used a BBC rev kit on a BBF?

The best rev kit for a 460 engine that I have ever seen is awesome, highly effective, and has been repeatedly proven to 10,000 rpm. It's made up as follows:Kobelco wrote:rev kit for a 460...Is there one avail?
- a 385 Series valve train that is made up of quality components and optimally set up for the intended application

bend a push rod and keep going the lifters will do what to a cam?? and oil pressure may go south also depends on if lifter pops out.

Just why are you not stopping and going on...? Do you not recognize that something is wrong...?
Roller lifters have a tie bar and will not just pop out.
A sheet metal baffle will prevent flat tappets from exiting their bores.

I had them pre-made some 30 years ago. Have about 10 remaining.
Also helps with preventing hot oil splash on the bottom of a non-air-gap type intake manifold.

I think you'll find that most of us will kill the power after dropping a cylinder. Your results may vary.

With one lifter out you will still have 15 psi oil pressure at 3500. Years ago I had one pop out when I was driving in the Rocky Mountains at 2 am. I thought it was something more catastrophic so I figured "F it" and kept driving to the next town. I didn't feel like be stranded in the pitch black on the side of a 2 lane road in the mountains. Once I pulled the valve covers off and found a bent pushrod I put the lifter back in. Ordered slightly different pushrods after checking the contact pattern on the valve and that engine ran for plenty more years.
