Are the yella terra shaft rockers strong enough to handle 8500rpm in a 900 hp motor?

Heck SS rockers and a girdle will handle that easy. Cool

Well, I've used Scorpions for the last 4 years, but I have seen a few failures. Basically the steel pocket for the push rod opens up. So, even though they have worked, I am replacing them this winter and am looking for a good replacement.

Then spend the money and buy a good set of WWs or T&Ds. The Yella Terras are not up to the task from what I've heard. You need to stop trying to go on the cheap with these kind of parts and buy the real thing. Wink

or if the T&D's / WW stuff is out of your budget range, then try Crower or Comp Cams SS Stuff. You'll be looking at $400-450 vs $1000-1500 or so.

i havent had any problem with mine , but your only talking 840 hp and a couple of 7500 hits in the water box Laughing

but i do have to say is when you try to torque the body down the whole assembly will move around so you have to watch what you are doing

i have about 650 in these pieces plus the setup and machining for the deal

I had been planning on going with the Crower SS but came across the Yella Terra's and since they were only a couple hundred more I figured I'd find out a little more, thanks btw. Looks like I'll stay with the Crowers as the T&D's are not in the budget..

In my opinion the Yella Terras are VERY durable and reliable but I have not used them to more than about 7500rpm and .820 or so lift. We've been running them on the monster truck engines for years without trouble. These rockers have very large high quality trunions and bearings and those are areas where many other rockers are not as high quality. For instance over several years we had several failures with the Competition Cams stainless rockers. The rocker itself never broke but the bearings went out or the trunion would fail.

A friend ran the Comp stainless on his Chevy small block engine turning it over 11,000rpm over 100 passes with zero failures. The next year he switched to Jesel's and had several of them give up, who knows...
