PCV alternatives
so, my goal here is to keep the blow by gases out of my intake, off the back side of my valve, etc hence why i am trying to avoid PCV.
i have a 578 that i spin up to 7000. it has a standard ring package (not thin in other words). during these higher revs there is certainly gases to evacuate.
i know the best answer would be a proper vacuum pump set for < 10" as this is a street driven engine. i have tried breathers and even a smog pump vacuum pump (electric)
neither were satisfactory. electric pump couldn't keep up. breathers hold more back pressure than i would like.
it seems besides a proper vac pump that i could just run an open draft tube or possibly header evacs. but, it seems the head evacs are not a good street solution.
so im down to a draft tube or pump (ironically the book ends of technology for this problem).
has anyone had a successful solution employed on a big street engine that revs a little?
i guess my fundamental question is what is the draw back to a draft tube?
thanks all

A small O.E.M electric power brake vacuum pump should work fine.
Down-Draft tubes worked well but, the EPA didn't accept the hydrocarbon emissions emitted from them.

I use a electric vacuum pump off a early 90s Chevy Comaro hooked from the valve cover to the evac in my headers. It works good I turn my 552 7200
