ignition timing for fuel economy
Hello,
I just installed a brand new Holley Sniper EFI on my 1985 F250 with a bone stock 460 and C6. I was aiming for better fuel efficiency and since I´m also able to control timing with the EFI it should be an easy adjustment.
What would be good ignition settings, especially for cruise and WOT for good fuel economy? Like I said everything is stock on the engine.
Thanks
Franz

Re: ignition timing for fuel economy
If you are using the handheld choose 36* TT
Part throttle cruise timing of about 40*
Initial set at 10* or per instructions.
Cruise AF 14 to 14.2 to start.
WOT 13 to 1
Idle 13.8 to 1 to start.

Hi Scotty Jay,
thank you for your response.
I´m currently at 15.5 AFR @ cruise and that´s working well but timing can be improved I´m sure.
currently 12° @ idle
41° @ cruise
and 35@ WOT

It's probably not going to get much better than that. Too much timing, and it will be fighting against itself. It seems like you have it near the top of the scale for efficiency already.
