Thinking of purchasing these A429 heads but they've been ported through the exhaust bolt boss. Seems a little extreme to me.
Just curious what your opinion is on this port job overall.

Did you see the ones Kasse did like that?

No hardware except guide plates?

Are those the same ones as at the other site?

Can you check the throat diameter if they are local?

PS: Might want to check the serial numbers if you want to run 2.25" 1.76" valves in them.

Don't know if they're the ones from the other site, I just saw them on FB.
Not local so unable to see them in person.

They have the same purple towel under them. Probably the same ones.

Maybe DFree will chime in?

It looks like they stopped porting about a 1/4" to 3/8" from the seats?

You are going to be in a race now, so don't quote if you want a chance at them.

Thanks for that.
Ehh..it's all right, I don't really need them. Just thought it would be nice to have in my stock, for a potential future build.

Yes sir. I have been adding to them. I have valves, guide plates and studs now. Just need a spring package for whatever cam that will be run with them.

Thanks.

This does help somewhat with airflow on these heads so, it is pretty common to see that.

However, most of the time, those head bolt holes are reamed to 5/8" and either brass or stainless thin wall tubing is installed so, exhaust carbon won't cling to the head bolt/stud, keeping them clean for much easier removal.

If you have a little cash I would grab 3 sets of springs, SFT, HFT and roller as well as cam bearings and a set of HFT and SFT lifters if you can, especially NOS on the lifters. I don't see prices going down and who knows on availibilty in the future.

I keep all that stuff on my watch list and it appears to be drying up, except maybe the springs.
