Re: The 83GT
The 1992 Front End looked so much better Mark, and the Black one in the pic is Beautiful.
Yes airbags for SRS, I believe 1995 was first year on the trucks. Typo on F250 I believe on the few posts back, White one has F-350 Emblem and F250 Dually's were mainly conversions, and if Ford ever had one it was a F250HD. Check the GVWR?
Around my new transformed 90210 Neck of the Woods the White one would be asking 30K and the Black one 50K Plus in 2023 Bidjet Majic Money.

Yeah it's an F350. GVWR is 10K
2 things I am not real thrilled about are:
R12 AC
4.10 rear gears.
That black one is smokin! I'd hate to be the guy trying to keep it clean!

Pretend it's a giant 8.8" with bolt in axles. You don't even have to take the wheels off to change gears. Summit has new gears for $309.
Guys around hear just mix R134a. It does not seem to bother the compressor oil as was claimed. It may not cool as good in traffic as the 134 systems as the condensors were not as big. You can remove the compressor and drain the oil and put the 134 oil in also and flush the system if you want to convert it correctly.
Not having the SRS is a big plus in my book. When the boxes go they blow the fuse and take out the speedo, plus the trans inteference issues.
Some take out 3.55's and of course there are 3.73's.

^ Those are FordMotoComany Take out gears also, not after market. Hence Good Gears.

I am not positive on this. I "think" if Ford made some F250 Dually's they may have been 4WD.
It would also "maybe" explain the Factory Ford 3.55 Option gears in the Sterling 10.25 axles, again my speculation. They put a Valetine Heart on the Ebay gears above, Cute,LoL.
Anyway Check Out this Bad Boy.

^ Like I said, we went 90210 and brought the Riff Raff and Their Money In, over here. It would bring much much much more then 5K if it was Duded up a little, and a Color Change, Even Though It's Not a 7.3.
If it AC cools its all that matters for the most part in that Department. Don't break the Vacuum line at the Firewall, it's a Pain to Splice an will Cool Less. If it's as Clean as the pictures I would snag it quick before a trader snatch's it up and Flips it.
The Resto Place Guy down the Road from Here, I know may have Eyes on it Already if it's on a big Public Listing.

Re: The 83GT
Cool
5K OK Sure.
A Little Pro Tip on These Old Dual Tank Ford Trucks, Especially 460's.
Carry a Full 5 Gallon Can of Gas in the Bed!
1. The fuel gauges are very bad at a 1/4 tank (Not Accurate) and drop like a rock.
2. They cross feed between tanks when the check valves leak (And They Do, Ford Gave Up on Dual Tanks and FI for a Reason) and suck the other tank down. You have to keep an eye on both tanks, or you may get caught by Surprize.
3. If you loose a fuel pump you are good to go with the other fuel pump and tank if it has fuel. If you are on a very long stretch of rural highway you won't go far on a 1/4 tank if you run them both low.
Don't ask me how I know, Just Saying.
The Ebay Guy with the Ford 3.55 gears in Pa. is where I got my 4.10's and Traction Lok 8.8. He has choice take out Differential Parts. If they came out of a 460 Truck (Like He Claims) they are usually low mileage because no one wanted to buy that much gas compared to the 7.3 guys. They usually stuck with their 4.10's also if they towed heavy.

^ That will do it every time. They must close early or something, you think someone would have caught that.
I don't remember the lighted grab handles from back in the day if they were OEM but it's been awhile.
Maybe my eyes or your picture, are you missing part of the drivers side emblem.

Once you take the bulb out or fix that problem turn everything off and in the dark and touch the battery cable on the positive terminal. You should have 0 or an extremely small arc on these old trucks. It's just a quick test as I am sure you know, if you don't want to break out the amp meter.
If it is has this feature as most XLT Lairats did, and it malfunctions ON (not likely) it can burn you also.

If I was a betting man, I would bet that old girl will be around when the New F-150 Lightings are getting LS and 5.0 Coyote and maybe a few 7.3 Godzilla Swaps in the Trunk Funk Punk Bunk are whatever they call it now.

The emblem is in the console. I will glue it back on.
The underhood light still works!
I lowered the hood and watched it turn off.

Re: The 83GT
Nice.
Those side lights peeked my curiosity. They did come OEM. My F350 4DR and the parts truck along with it did not have them in 1989 M/Y on them though.
As far as their control, I dono know. Trailer package or courtesy lights I would "Assume" hopefully.
Post #12 has some schematics and 92-3 shows a trailer relay along with the markers for 1990 models.
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1514509-tail-light-wiring-1991-f350.html
Be interesting if the bulbs rusted in and the plastic got brittle. All That seems like a pain.
I am sure you will get it figured out easy enough.
I was looking at Front End stuff for the Old Girls, My other Sexy Front End one 95 Red could use this.
Everyone in Texas should get one and I bet Curt would really like it, Too!

That's Just Too Easy and Will Look Too Bad Ass.

Started working on brakes today. This stuff is big. Haha.
The pads are thin and the hoses are toast. Hubs will spin forever if you give them a whirl.
Back to the 83.
Been messing with getting some sort of filter on this thing. The forward facing tb ends up real close to the front of the scoop. A single 4" pipe is a no-go, so I decided to do dual 3" pipes. It is just mocked up right now but I think this is what I am going to do. This setup fits up into the scoop and will only be used for street driving.

When I saw the new air cleaner first thought was it needs a couple of decals in the center of it,LoL.
https://www.etsy.com/market/ut_longhorn_decal
And Moon Eyes.V
https://decalfly.com/products/moon-eyes-logo-sticker-decal?currency=USD&gad=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw6eWnBhAKEiwADpnw9siKB-rahhV7UcPgvpgNWCLe8Y27__hGjE20gzO2Y-lzItQm9y2HtRoC2f4QAvD_BwE
Just messing with you, looks good. If those stinking rotors were not so heavy, I bet the wheel bearings would love you for some fresh grease with their new pads.
I have been keeping an eye out on the 460 cams and the Lunati like you ordered and it's not good at all.
Vivid even removed theirs from their online catalog, after they said they would Honor their price. It looks like Summit put it in the flat out, Part Not Available trash bin. It's really something else on Big Block Ford Parts right now.

If I see any cams pop up I will pass them along if they look like anything decent you might could use.
Playing truck things today my self and going to fit the new bug guard in a bit.
That air cleaner looks very cool and when you get the T colored will be even better. Symmetrical is always a good thing with cars, especially Hot Rods.
On a side note I wish those 5.0's had an intake setup from Ford like you have going. That factory snake pit is something else.

If you would not have gotten those big dollar SCJ Heads and it was a budget Street Toy I would have almost recommended to try one of these budget regrinds the way prices are now.
I have watched the Elgin BBF HFT Performance E-1163-P Cams New go from under 150 Dollars to 194 Dollars in what seems like a year or less.
It's basically a CompCams Magum 280H-10 Single Pattern Old School Go To Saturday Night Special Cam With Out Big Name/Sticker/Bumper and Used to be Dirt Cheap.
The Elgin Verson is Claimed at 308/308 230/230 .522"/.522"@110 Vs CompCams 280/280 230/230 .530"/.530"@110.
My Lunati Version is 292/292/ 230/230 .554"/.554"@109
I Think Elgin Might be Stretching Their Advertised Duration or Measuring it at a Much Lower Lift.
Anyways That's Just about The Price Increases I am Seeing.
The Availability for BBF Parts is Pathetic Now.
The Below Cam is Close To The Lunati You are Waiting On.
With Your Old Cast Iron Heads, it Would be Real Tempting to Me at This Point, To Try One, That's for Sure.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/285102752741?hash=item426172c3e5:g:tSAAAOSwoMFiERdd&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA0JfEaugnGY9uhtBrrFNMxHSQYRTemGQXGOB2LOZ0ZIvhQySxkZQvmRV7p91bkpZepBpzsEsoUJd1AM5Dlgs3eqmDmYjxpKiBzj9gT3h1u3OFu3%2FlnhxvU1o7WDb2HWAwuXMiNyrDdAxhkzPxCVLYdurd4OGBky1%2FIUELd%2BmfOOSTudA%2BVQbx4px%2FLes77nuk20RkDdgJ5tnhtomHmieY9kBzFgG33oLp39yhhfLhFb%2FATy08AYKjMQDx9pFGQgpN2vLbQn%2B6pqZRIOrmHjJfbiY%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR6qKjIrUYg
With The SCJ's I Doubt I would Do It, I Just would Hate Robbing Another Cam From an Engine Though.
Some of The CompCams Old 294S-10's Another Single Pattern That Went Out of Vouge Nobody Wants are Selling for $300 Dollars Now.
It's Bizzaro World for BBF Parts Now Also.
Maybe Something New Will Pop Up or Yours will Show Up.
PS: On Those 3.55 Gears I would Make That Guy a 100 Buck Offer if it was me.
1. He Would Probably Take it or Counter Close.
2. They are Not Common.
3. He has a Traction Lock Carrier That They Came With and You could Get a Very Good Como Deal.
4. Both or Hard To Come by and Go Cheap as Nobody is Running These Old Trucks Anymore.
5. It Will Help The Highway Mileage Some.
6. If You Tow That Lightish Mustang with an Open Trailer Excluding Steep Mountains They are Still Plenty Low.
7. If When You get Tired of Feeding the Thristy Hog and Go to Sell it, or Trade It, Whether You Install Either or Both, OR DON'T, The Next Owner Would Likely Want Them. You Would/May Make a Decent Profit with Them.

Lot of Miles on Them Daily Driver and No Problems. Bolted Them in With a New Crush Sleeve and Maybe a Seal.
And You Know How To Replace Clutch's in Them, I Doubt You will Need to Though if It was like my 8.8"

Re: The 83GT
Buick v. Ford is next weekend, so what better way to prepare than to put the nitrous plate on and wire up the microswitch?
The only trouble is I need a smaller jet for the fuel. The smallest I have is a 47 and I need a 34. A 47 would be fine if I was carbureted, but it needs to be small since I am tapping into efi fuel pressures.

Re: The 83GT
I picked up a 34 jet at the local speed shop at lunch today. I was actually surprised that they had them. Good to know!
It's supposed to be a 150 shot but with an engine this big, will probably be more like a 125, if that.
I installed the bottle and pressurized the system. I found one leak, corrected that and everything seems to be working like it should.
I might do a quick test blast down the highway tomorrow, just to make sure everything is working.

Re: The 83GT
That is a Fogger Jet Size (.034) or Tunnel Ram/Dual Quad in a Pair.
For 150 or so HP it Used to be .065 to .073 Nitrous Pill.
I am Going to start with two .030 to .034 Pills with the Quad or a Total Under .075 on the 460 Stockish Smogger.
Happy Gas is up to 75 Bucks for a 10 Pound Tripp, so Not going to be getting off on too much these days.
That small pill should be good off the line though, until the second stage comes on in second gear.
Cast Iron 460 intakes with an EGR an a Holley on Them or Heavy bitch's. Especiall in a tallish truck. It sill hurts a day later. Was about to get the hoist to get it off the back studs. Once they are clear it's a cake walk from there.
Off to cleaning and painting parts and engine detail. Should be healed enough to lift bare Aluminum tomorrow.
