460 headers for foxbody Empty 460 headers for foxbody

I’m seeing what options are out there for headers. I’m putting a 460 into an 06 Mustang and hooker swap headers fit the passenger side fine but #8 on the drivers side is the problem. It hits the frame and the steering shaft so I’m trying to see if there are other options out there. Bonuses of you have pics of the headers mounted to the engine.

IMO i doubt anyone sells headers for a 460 Swap in that year Mustang!!Maybe a Chassis Shop can modify the Number 8 Tube to fit?Otherwise i see custom made headers as your only other option!!

I suspect Mark is correct but I did not look. I remember bringing this car up revisiting P-51 heads the other day.

He has some big custom step headers. The pictures on page 3 may be helpful in routing, if you cut your offending tube to re-pipe it.

For the other guys around here it's a cool engine and car to revisit, also. Cool

Have someone who builds or modifies headers re-route the offending tube.

In almost any project involving parts that were never made to be together, some modifications or fabricating will be necessary.

Oh yea, an "06 is not a Fox-chassis car.

As noted, only the #8 tube is the issue.
An enterprising fabricator could make a decent buck if all he sold was the #8 tube for the s197.

When I fitted those Fox swap headers into my 2005 GT,  the 5,6 and 7 tubes cleared.
But this pic shows how the #8 needs to be re-routed. Just not enough room between the frame rail and the s197 steering shaft.

Edit : I noticed someone posted that Hooker has discontinued those 6224 swap headers. Sure hope not. They were the last ones readily available. The only alternative is custom made.
