Interesting spark plug data
I was just watching an Engine Masters episode on spark plugs and found the results intersting so I thought I'd let the experts here watch and provide their thoughts. Watch the whold 10 minute video to get the engine setup and process, but to see the end results you can skip to the 9:36 mark.

Yes i saw that episode too. In my opinion the only two plugs that had potential to make more power they didnt test. E3’s and autolite racing. The AR’s have the shortened electrode that is said to unshroud the spark and promote flame travel better. Even if those two did make a little power it would definitely not be very much but it would've completed the test i think.

Unshrouding spark plugs is old school. In the early 70s I was gifted with a trip to Champion Spark Plug's tech school in Toledo Ohio. At a coffee break, I was discussing 2 cycle engines with the instructor. He suggested the unshrouding for my dirt bike plugs. I then started using unshrouding on my customers cars, when doing a tune up.

Not an Expert. Looked like a "Claimed" 7HP difference from best to worst, at the 800Hp Level. Meh... Who cuts the advertising "Checks". Will they Lay down Lower E/T's in a Consitent Car and Track back to back? Are the Variables going too be too great to be duplicated Accurately, even then?
As far as gap, I agree it does matter, especially in boosted as well as heat range in N/A and Boosted. That's more Important Aspect to me then Brand.
On the Subject of Spark Plugs and Reading Lean Cylinder Conditions, Exhaust Valve Color when the Heads are Pulled off, always was Nice.
In the Car this is pretty slick in my opinion, and why I commented.

A spark plug is an extension of the entire ignition system. It all works together so, different spark plugs work a little differently with different ignition systems. They had ONE ignition system ...
AND, like he says throughout ... power is not EVERYTHING in regular vehicles.
