did i wipe my cam ??
just wiped hyd.. cam ?, comp extreme energy that was from 15 years ago(just got motor done this year ! ) 120 miles, after proper break in (2500rpm for 25 minutes) put another 80 miles and all of sudden it started shaking and what feels like missing couple cyl's . limped it another mile and ran ruff, but still ran. turned off and restarted instantly. rear main leaked out a quart 1/2 of oil. cut filter open and found no silver in pleats, but oil out of filter had a very small amount of brass in it. pulled valve covers and all valve train appears tight. does this sound like cam ? or main or rod bearing ? not sure w/ it re- starting on 1st crank if its cam ?

Sounds to me like a bearing somewhere.
Could be both.

You weren't running a Bronze distributor gear for some reason were you?

Firstly, I would do a compression check to verify or try to verify if any cylinder is low, pay close attention to the removed spark plug condition. You could remove valve covers and check all rockers for looseness, turning over engine by hand(it sounds like you've already done this). Drain and check oil for ANY debris, the oil pump will chew up any metal shards as they pass through oil pump, then pull the intake and check each lifter for wear. Check balancer for outer ring slippage and converter to flexplate attachment nuts. If nothing is found as the culprit, then engine may need be removed for complete inspection and/or to fix rear main seal leakage(I have heard of issues of rear main seals having too much crush measurements-causing leaks).

Brass??? Only brass could possibly be a rocker arm or distributor gear if you put a brass one on by mistake
Copper would be a bearing
Copper would be a bearing
