Opinions wanted.

Some background.

I have worked the past 4 years doing construction work.
Worked for one of my neighbors or his brother depending how big of a job was going on etc.

Well anywho the brother I cant trust anymore to pay me and with the
economy the way it is no one is really remodeling their house right now
so I have been "unemployed" for a while now. Aside from doing stuff on
my own.

So, I have two classes left to finish school and am not attending right
now until I get a job again. My parents could pay for it but they are
footing the cash for my brother who just started at the local tech
school. So I dont think it would be right to ask.

Im laying here in bed thinking about life and stuff. Is it bad that I
am about to be 24 and still at home? No I do not intend to live at home
and suck off my parents for ever. Its just I catch a lot of flack on
one other site from this guy about being at home still.

Id pack up tomorrow and leave if I could, but I cant guarantee a steady income right now.

I would rather be here then owing rent somewhere and jobless.

Times are tough right now and good/high paying jobs are far & few between. If still living at home is ok w/mom & Dad and you are looking for a job, I would'nt care what someone else thinks. But when you do get a good job help Mom/Dad all you can then find you a place.

Well my kids say they aren't leaving till they are 40 so don't feel too bad. I don't see a problem with living at home while you are in school though. I think the biggest issue to me would be if you are freeloading off of your parents or not. Why don't you let your parents help you out so you can concentrate on finishing school then get a job. Of course, this is just my opinion and doesn't mean much.

Tim, I see a lot of this same thing everywhere in the world. It's not uncommon for someone your age and in your situation to live at home. If your parents have no issue with it, that is all that matters. Why put yourself into a financially bad situation to please some jerk off on web site.

Tim ,if your parents can afford to help you through school. By ,all means finish it now!! If you feel guilty about it after your done, pay them back when your life gets better . You'll understand more about your parents love for you when you have your own family, but i'm sure they would rather help you succeed in life now by helping with school ,then to see you struggle for the 10 years trying to get on your feet.Good luck, Dan-O

I agree with everyone else, but don't be shy about helping out around the house, like mowing grass, or shoveling snow, If you are helping ,and carrying your weight, you aren't free loading. J.M.H.O.

I was watching the news a few nights ago, can't remember which one, but they were talking about some people moving back in with the parents due to the economy. I guess it depends on the situation but you should speak with your parents about this IMO.

Like i tell my son ( who doesn't live at home) but I help him from time to time. Were all in this together some times you need help other time's I'll need help. your cool with the way things are just take the household pressure off Mom and Dad.

it could be worse,you could be unemployed with a house,car,child support,or some other problems you needed help with.your folks probably like you being there more than you think.i got close family that have to be kept up by the inlaws cuz they're lazy as shit and wont even try to work,hell they wont even cut the grass while my fatherinlaw makes the house payments for them,that's another story.you dont sound like that kind of guy so dont worrry about grief from anybody else,who knows.... somebody may be payen his bills for him!
