Hey, Lem:
Is this dampner available with the Ford pulley four bolt pattern? I have a Romac dampner on my 545, but would like to upgrade. I ask about the bolt pattern as everything is new and with the four bolt pattern.

There are 3 common BBF dampers available.

1 - Ford FE: Stock 3 bolt pulley pattern, made for stock length crankshaft

For the stock style four bolt set up the IW web site says that the standard crank snout collar has to be machined down to 2.3", as the only one I own is on the the motor how much of a change is this?

I have a Ford EDIS wheel welded to the factory collar which I turned down a bit just to clean it up. This means that the sensor I use for the EFI is in between the dampner and the lower timing belt pulley/belt assembly (Danny Bee). My question is how much deeper is the body of the IW unit than factory, or in my case the Fluidamper I have now, that is, how much closer if any is it to the 'timing cahin cover"?

And for those that have made this change what is the inprovement to be had for the $379? My bearings came out looking pristine on the last rebuild on my moderate power, street driven 581" after maybe 120 passes and 10,000 miles.

I'll measure a stock one. I do not think the body of the damper is much if any closer to the timing cover....they do not have that off set to the rear like the stock style deals do.
