Its about time!
After a lot of back and forth I have the engine combo nailed down.
Leaves me plenty of room to grow in the future.
Its almost time for me to finally assemble the 460 for my F100.
Heres the engine specs.
For now this is what my engine will consist of
D1VE block out of a Lincoln.
Stock bottom end
Cam 204/214 @ 050, 262/272 adv. 479/504 lift
Valve springs Ford Racing M-6513-A50
Factory rockers
Factory retainers
Headers 1 3/4" primaries
Magnaflow mufflers
Intake factory with autolite spreadbore to holley adapter
Carb Holley 3310 750 cfm
D3VE heads with smog bumps ground down
Roller timing set. Cam timing "straight up"
New rings and bearings.
New oil pump. Stock volume.
Distributor...up in the air...I do have a points one here now for a 429.
Should be good for torque.
Just need a gasket set and to buy the valve springs.
Only other big ticket item I need right now is a radiator. Then all the little crap like spark plugs, wires, hoses etc.
Got the block back from the machine shop today.

If you can come across a used, stock, Duraspark distributor...you can swap the gutz to your points distributor...in about 10 minutes.

Is there some benefit to doing this other than appearance?chuck stevens wrote:If you can come across a used, stock, Duraspark distributor...you can swap the gutz to your points distributor...in about 10 minutes.

Sounds great, if this is a street engine then you might want to think about advancing the cam 2 degree's. It isn't enough to drop the rpm range, but it will add some torque and horsepower to it. Nice combination, it will run like a champ.

Longroof, the advantage is that you can use any set of gutz in your housing, as long as it comes from an 8 cylinder distributor.
