OH THE CARNAGE !!....@ a high end car auction....nice musclecars damaged...

By now, nearly every gearhead on Earth has heard about the mess at the Russo and Steele auction in Scottsdale, Arizona, on Friday. A wind and rain storm hit,
lifting one huge tent totally off the ground and onto the nearby loop 101 highway. By the time action was being taken, a second tent went down. There were roughly 600 collector cars inside those tents, and according to a story at AZcentral.com, a Hagerty Insurance rep estimates that half of them were damaged. It could be $1.5 million in wreckage.

As horrid as it is, you can't help but look at the photos of hundreds of muscle cars and high-end rides damaged in the havoc. Here are some galleries we found online:

I've seen a bunch of damage over the years by those tents!! People keep bringing them though

I'm sure the rich yuppies that owned the cars had them insured, probably for some overinflated value! Most of the cars aren't even driven, there just an "investment". I hate rich yuppies, they have driven up the price of musclecars to the point that they are out of the reach of most Americans. When you watch these auctions on tv, it's more like "Lifestyles of the rich and famous" than a true car enthusiasts auction. Did I say I hated rich yuppies? Sorry about venting my pent up anger!

The real problem was that they would not let the owners in to see their cars. They had no idea if theirs was one of the damaged ones or not. Even if it were only a broken window, the water damage alone would have been major.

Some of the real damage was to the cars on the freeway that the tents blew into.
