Help with BS 12" mini tubbed fox body
Everything I have seen tells me to go with a 6 1/2 backspace and narrow the rearend 2 1/2".? But what I have measured says different...yes it may be wrong also. What I have now is stock length 59.5 from end to end of each axle with 15x10 and 6 1/2 BS with 29.5x10.5(wheels only for measuring..borrowed) The side wall is out of the finder 1" so 1 1/2 off rearend with that wheel is PREFECT. Makes it 67 1/2 inside fender well....measured that and dead on. From mounting surface on rim to outer side wall is 5 1/2 " From what I am THINKING on a 12" with same BS from surface to outer sidewall would be 8" added extra 1/2" for pulling on sidewall. So if you take the 8"x 2(wheels) is 16" then subtract that from 67.5 is 51.5 making 8 needing 4" off each side?

Yes, 6-6.5" will work fine with a 12" rim, or 5-5.5" backspace with a 10" rim, taking 2.5" off each side.........
I am about to run the same tire + 12" rim, with 5" backspace + 3.5" off the rear on each side.

Flange to flange without brake hat is 54 1/4 and with brake hat is 54 3/4 on our car with a 15x12 with 6 7/8 back space. below are pics. stock suspension with offset lowers. these pics are with 28x10.5's but will be running 29.5x10.5's this year. our wheels were actually 15x10's but are three piece Hole Shots and we just bought a new outside half and added two inches. We went from a stock setup to the width we have now without changing backspacing.
if I was to build with new parts instead of the used junk I used, I would take another 1/2 inch to 1 inch off each side and use less backspacing.

As Nitro mentioned 59.5" axle flange/axle flange..........54.5" is the housing length

well as long as we are talking about this, maybe you can help me.
I narrowed my rear 3 inches each side and am also planning on a 12in wheel but it seems that i need a 5.5 bs does that sound right?
